The Reason for Easter 🤍🥹

Easter can be a bit confusing when we throw in the stress of gifts, eggs, bunny rabbits and candy. Not that these things aren’t cute and a celebration of Gods creation, but we need to remind ourselves the true meaning for Easter.

Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24 and John 20 all share the story of the resurrection of Jesus. These books were written by different prophets, and they are very similar in text.

The significance of that is on four separate accounts people prophesied about Jesus, His character, His crucifixion and His revival.

On the third day after Jesus was brutally crucified, He rose again. He walked in His flesh, after being severely beaten, sliced open, bones broken, completely dehydrated, suffocated by His own body, He conquered death and rose again.

Jesus returns to His disciples once more to share the good news.

”And He said to them, “O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?”“

Luke 24:25-26 NIV

”While they still could not believe it because of their joy and amazement, He said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?”“

Luke 24:41 NIV

”and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”“

Luke 24:46-49 NIV

We’re sharing a lot of scripture in this post, but y’all!!!! This is so good!

Christ DEFEATED DEATH

GOD DEFEATED DEATH

GOD IS ALIVE TODAY

HE NEVER DIED

God gave us Jesus, the flesh of His Spirit. A sinless man who dies for teaching the Fathers love.

Jesus died to share Gods love with you and I, with everyone you encounter.

Jesus spoke to His disciples and “ascended to heaven” Luke 24:51

He is still alive, sitting at the right thrown of God.

Waiting for you to open up to him about the problems you face each day

Waiting to give you the same guidance and love He gave to everyone he encountered nearly 1991 years ago.

Jesus had to die to bridge the gap between humanity and God.

He had to share the spirit of God, so we could see God is a Father figure, not someone who ‘wants to set rules to be mean’ but to keep us from harm.

Gods character is the ultimate display of love. Even though our flesh may not like the outcome, He is always loving and always good.

Celebrate Easter today for what it is, a sacrifice and a new beginning for you and I. Thank God today for this sacrifice and draw near to Him, that’s all he truly wants is your attention.

Love ,

Kelso 🤎
