If you’re new to reading the bible, your walk in faith, or you simply need a refresher, I recommend reading a gospel book. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, all written by different authors tell the story of Jesus and how He has saved us from sin.
Before Jesus entered this world, people wanted to seek God, and He wanted a more intimate relationship with His people. The sin in the world has separated us from God, back in the garden of Eden, (Genesis 3). But all in God’s timing, He sent His son, Jesus to embody the human experience. God felt all of the emotional baggage (and then some) that we feel as humans. Jesus experiences temptations from the devil, pain, guilt, shame from others, physical hardship, and mental hardship.
God did this to better connect with His children.
The book of Psalms is a prophetic perception of Jesus’s life. The feelings described in this poetic book relate to the feelings Jesus felt on Earth (Luke 22:44).
Once I read this, I realized the sacrifices Jesus made were for God to grow closer to me. That God relates to me, knows the hardship I’m facing, and can help give me strength to go on. It changed my whole perspective of who God is. An empathetic, loving, patient God. Whose being surpasses all human understanding. That is where our faith comes in. We have to take refuge in God in times of low faith. We have to trust that He is with us and working all out for our good.
The gospels highlight that exact message. God is faithful, He is with you, and you can endure anything because the Holy Spirit was left behind in you.
God has conquered and rescued all who believe in Him from death, what else is there left to fear?!
I hope you enjoyed this message and that it blesses your walk with Christ, wherever you are in that process. I pray you find peace in the Lord today and we start earnestly seeking Him in every detail of our days. God is good, and He is with you
Love,
Kelso🩷
