Trusting your Creator

Aren’t our bodies amazing? I mean honestly think about the fact that you don’t have to remember to breathe, or digest food, or replenish your red blood cells every few seconds. God designed our bodies so perfectly with something called innate intelligence. Psalms 139:13 states, “For you created my inner being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. Innate intelligence is a very popular topic in the Chiropractic World that explains the body’s ability to want to heal itself. Our creator gave us the ability to seek alternative self healing strategies that often go unnoticed. Pain can be uncomfortable, but sometimes it’s necessary to experience some pains to become stronger.

Our bodies are constantly trying to reach homeostasis, or an overall balance and harmony. When something happens to disrupt the balance, we often show signs of fatigue, fever, muscle or joint pain, basically every thing that could end up damaging us in the long run. Pain is our body alerting us that something is off balance.

In our high demand, fast paced world we often try to suppress pain with over the counter relievers, prescribed harsh medications or other more harmful ways to deal such as substance abuse or ignoring the issue to the best of our abilities. However, this in most cases is not how God intended our bodies to heal. There is no ‘quick fix’ to restoration of balance. Our bodies are created with innate intelligence to allow us to know when something is wrong. How cool is that? Our bodies are always fighting for homeostasis, and everything we surround ourselves with can easily throw that off. It’s important to be cautious about what we put in our bodies.

  • 1 Corinthians 6 says; “You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
  • 1 Corinthians 6:19 also states “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.”

As disciples of the Lord, we should be mindful of how we treat our bodies, how aligned we are with our creator, and the way we present ourselves to followers of Jesus. He skillfully crafted us to chase him. Worldly pleasures of processed foods, alcohol or drugs, or constant screen exposure will never fulfill the aches in our souls because we were not physically designed to. We were designed for more, way more than this world. So friends, this is a snippet of what my blog will be about, focusing on our health, overall wellness and relating how the Gospel plays a huge role in physical and biological make-up. God made us each with a purpose and plan in mind, rest and know that he is in control.

Thank goodness for his grace!
